The YES Project is excited to announce that in partnership with community partners, we will be building a youth centre this year!
The Youth Resource Centre will be a ‘one-stop’ hub of integrated services for youth aged 12-24 years old with a focus on providing mental health support, basic needs and offering a safe place for youth in the Penticton area. A goal of the youth centre is to offer accessible, timely, youth friendly, and integrated care to prevent youth from falling through the cracks.
There are over 20 local organizations who are willing to offer their youth services out of the centre. Offering services out of one location will reduce barriers and provide a continuum of preventative and specialized care. The centre will offer services such as mental health support, addictions counselling, employment support, primary care, wellness support, youth activities, and sexual health support. The centre will also provide access to showers, laundry and food.
Parents, youth and families will have one centralized location to receive youth-specific supports. This will make it much easier for youth and families to navigate the health care system.
If you are interested in donating to our youth centre please click on our ‘donate’ tab. The YES Project will need the full support of the community and donations to make our goal a reality. Thank you for supporting Penticton youth and giving them a #Avoice4once!
